I’m retiring so I can spend more time with my family and to deal with pending scandals, whatever they might be.

2023: The Year of the Mind Fuck

 In the corner of the Internet where I lurk, there has been talk of Mind Fuckery. The term maybe was coined by Kunstler and used a lot by him and also used a lot by the host of Coffee and a Mike: a very, very good podcast by the way.

Now, I’ve just read a substack by CJ Hopkins where he declares 2023 to be the year of the Mind Fuck. I suppose that he and Kunstler are talking about the same phenomenon.  That is, that  the powers that be are really screwing with our minds.

I agree with the idea of the MF.  My only quibble is that to say 2023 is the year of it is to minimize how much of it has going on in the years 2020 and 2021 and 2022.

 For whatever reason — maybe they think it looks cool — Chinese in China like to wear clothing and hats bearing logos the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers.  As a baseball fan — not as ardent as I used to be, mind you — I can’t stand it.  The Chinese mostly have no idea of the baseball aspect of what they’re wearing,

Maybe with Ohtani signing with the Dodgers I can stop them wearing Dodger caps at least.  What I’ll do is tell all Chinese that the Dodgers have given 700 million to a Japanese person.

Tournament Ninth Day Results: We Have a Champion!

 J wins the Tournament Championship!  It took a 4-0 first half lead and L’s rally fell short.  J has a 7-0 tournament record and achieved a double: round robin champ and playoff champ.

Tournament 8th Day Results: The Semifinals

Below you will find the results of the tournament semifinals.

L will play J in the final.  It will be the second game between L and J in the tournament.  Both teams had 3-0 records entering the last day of the round robin when they met in a game to determine the group championship .  L had a 4-0 lead but J came back with seven points to win the game and the Group 2 Championship.  Their second game will have a bigger championship on the line.

L had to get through a relegation tournament to even be in the round robin.  They will have a 8-1 record entering the final.

J with a victory in the championship game would have a perfect 7-0 record.  Their last loss was in the cup final.  While the double final victory is out of the question, they can achieve a tournament double by being the round robin and playoff  champion.

• The Tournament semifinals are set.  Two teams from group 1 will meet two teams from Gtoup 2.  J hopes to win the championship with a 7-0 record.  B, with seven tournament championships in a previous iteration of the tournament, is hoping to win its first championship in this era.

M’s victory gave it a playoff spot despite its 1-3 record.

J’s win gave it the Round Robin Championship.

U won group 3 despite its 11-4 loss to T.

AA got a playoff spot.

Defending Tournament Champion DD faces relegation .

CC beat FF for the Group 4 championship.
