The way I think of it, telling someone they’re going to Hell is tolerant. For to me, tolerance means putting up with something you don’t like. It’s only intolerant if you try to genocide the thing and offer it no hope of redemption.
That being said, intolerance can be good. Tolerating evil is no virtue and is probably cowardly.
It is too much to ask for acceptance. Acceptance is not a synonym for tolerance. The tolerant are unaccepting.
