Taken

Other person: Sorry, not interested in dating. I am taken.

Another person who is full of my wit:  Are you taken or have you been taken in?

Chugging

Are you chugging along or are you alone chugging?

Imagined Conversation

 Other person:  Good morning!

Me:  Isn’t it too early in the day to be judgmental?

Other person is then blown away by my intellect and wit.

Expensive Hat Jokes

What did you call an American who’s got a more expensive hat than Trump?

The Pope.

Back during the Pontificate of John Paul 2, the joke went as follows:

What do you call a Pole with an expensive hat?

The Pope.

Calling people bigots

The problem with calling people bigots as a pejorative is that bigots are usually factually correct in their denunciations.  So it is with trepidation that one says to anti-bigots that they are bigots.  Hang around with an anti-bigot, a progressive. a wokester, and an anti-racist and eventually their hypocritical bigotries will reveal themselves to you.  But ate these progressive bigots correct in their bigotries?  Yes.  So what’s the problem with progressive bigotry?  It is focused on a few groups while being blind to the flaws of all others.

The Misanthrope on War

“War is great in theory.  Lots of people getting killed.  But in practice, you have to choose sides, which is a bummer because both sides deserves being clobbered.”

Some AKiC Random Musings

If a person withdraws, do others approach that person and ask why?  Generally, they don’t.

99 percent of the time, taking the initiative in a starting a relationship yields no practical results.  But you have to keep trying to find that diamond.

If one is insignificant — and the chances are that one is extremely insignificant — is it even worth one’s while to care about the state, society, and the media present?

“I was a nondescript sixty-something blowhard just sounding off”. That’s a John Derbyshire quote.  It can apply to me now:  Andis Kaulins is a 60 year old blowhard sounding off.

The younger portion of the Canadian voting public apparently voted in greater numbers for the conservatives.  Does that mean they wanted to preserve or conserve the system: the Canadian managerial administrative state?  Maybe some wanted it to be run better, but certainly a good number wanted it be to DOGEd.  Anyway, what this goes to show is that the people who voted for the Liberals were actually being conservative.  The left-wing progressive radical managerial administrative state has been with us for so long that many Conservatives aren’t conservative anymore.  So, it’s time for the Conservatives to change their name.  Perhaps, they could call themselves the Sensibles or the Common-Sensers or the Normals!

Anger is an energy.  If individuals feel powerless and expect magic societal powers to help them out of their funk, they need to realize that only they can ultimately change their situation and/or their outlook on it.  If they don’t think they have the inner resources, they have to realize that the anger or frustration they feel is misdirected energy, it is a resource that they do have but they are using it in a wrong way.

When applying a kick in the ass, it has to be done righteously and with charity.
