Is racism a problem?

Nah.  The problem is cultural differences.  Nobody hates peuple  because of their skin color,  They hate what people do on account of their cultures.

Can I Have Some Victim Privilege ? Pretty Please?

I haven’t posted to this blog for many years!

How many?  Almost ten years.

Here’s a thought:  If I had victim privilege, I could increase my annual income by 30,000 USD at least!

Niccccceeee to be back! Haha!

Your Fellow Man

Most of what your fellow man does isn't particularly interesting. Unfortunately, most of what your fellow man thinks isn't particularly interesting either. The chances are he thinks like you or he thinks in a way, that while isn't the same as you, is the same as the party to which he thinks he gives his allegiance.

Solecisms

I solecism too much.  I just notice I did one in the blog's description.

Please note the irony in this entry.

What to do when bored

When you are bored, think of what interesting people would do. Then disregard most of it and instead contemplate what the saints would do.

One Seventh of the World Just Doesn't Go with the Program

One seventh of the world just doesn't go with the program. In more enlightened times, they could live in monasteries. These days, they can either not be on the Internet or hang out at its few sites of sanity.

If we don't worship God....

If we don't worship God, we will worship something else, whether it be false idols, money, sex, power, ideologies, or our priorities.

I Am All Wrong

Both the church and those who are not in church tell me that I am all wrong. I prefer to have the church telling me wrong because it at least is honest enough to admit that all its members are all wrong too.

"I am a sinner!" said the Pope.

How Can You Not Believe?

How can religious people believe in something, that being God, that doesn't exist?

The person who asked this was a thorough blockhead. He was either incapable or unwilling to answer that question. So I will answer it for him. They believe that God does exist. And they are probably looking at the blockhead and thinking how can you not believe in something that is plain as the nose on your face?

Priorities

One must do what is right in life without visibly seeming to make a priority of it.

Embrace Dullness

Embrace the dull, I tell myself.

I see no point in trying to make myself seem interesting. Things other people do like take up cooking, go the gym, and ride bicycles in order to  tell others that they do something seem pointless.

Best I think to embrace the dullness.  Or in my case, best that I accept that I am dull

How To Ruin a Society

If you want to ruin the society from which you benefit, spoil your children.

Wrong Dogmas

How is it that people can be very dogmatic about things having to do with their bodies like diet and so on, while at the same time, being divorced?  These people will have an attitude of disdain for people who go to McDonald's.  Oh I never eat that! they say.  But then they rather not talk about the one thing that they may have done in their lives that involved vow and commitment, and real morality because they screwed it up.

The modern cult of the body is evil.

What do I know?

I know that there are a lot of other people in the world.

I know that they do things that I couldn't do.

I know that I am under the illusion that I know these people because I read about them.

Toleration

Tolerate the good, don"t tolerate the bad but make allowances.

Travel

To traveling inwards expands ones mind as much as traveling outwards.

To look under your bed is just as fantastic a journey as to travel to Mars.

Grain of Sand

"All the world in a grain of sand; all the universe too. "

It is commonly known that no matter how big something is, there will always be something bigger.  That is, we think of infinity as being very, very big.

But do we think about how small something is, there will always be something smaller?  That is, we can never get to the smallest thing; everything is divisible?

Infinity goes both ways.

One thing is always infinitely bigger than nothing.

To create infinity, all that has to be done is to create a grain of sand.

What is the Aim of Life?

Maybe it is simple: to be good.  But if that is the aim, why is it so?  What is the compelling reason to be good?
This question of compelling reasons raises another question.  Can we be good without compulsion?  We can try but why put ourselves out if there is no reason to?

Very simply I say that there has to be a reason, and all creatures needs compulsion to be good;  and thus incentives matter.

A Prayer

Please allow others to do better and get more than I do.

All I ask is that my getting less is a matter of indifference to me.

Who?

Who controls all this?

It seems that it is greater than even the greatest mind can grasp.

Pain

Pain is opportunity saying grasp me! And the louder it shouts, the bigger the prize.

Pain is how you get out of yourself.

To Discriminate or Not

A polygamist tries to get a hotel room for himself and his three wives.  The owner of the hotel is a avowed homosexual and married.

Could the owner not give the polygamist a room because of the illegality of the relationship?

A man brings his dog, which he says is his spouse to the same hotel.  What should the owner do?

Take me to another age!  Please!
